Meet our Medical Directors

Don Weithman, MD
Before becoming a physician, Dr. Don Weithman was a nuclear trained submarine officer in the United States Navy; having served on the USS Barb and USS Tautog, both fast attack boats. This was followed by a stint with the Office of Naval Intelligence.
Why the change to family medicine? "It was all an effort to help families the way I have wanted my family members cared for." When asked if there were any links between past and previous careers he said: "A submarine represents an extensive interaction of complicated engineering systems. When one goes wrong, others are affected. It requires problem solving skills. Medicine is the same way. This is especially true with our elderly and the problems can extend beyond the acute illness. I think that is where I thrive."
Dr. Weithman had this to say about Family Home Health: "This organization reminds me a lot of the military, in that I am surrounded by so many highly qualified and competent professionals. Their dedication and compassion are the most pronounced attributes.”
Our organization is empowered by the care, compassion, and expertise of members like Dr. Weithman. And it is through the virtue of our staff that we are able to make a profound distinction in the lives of our patients.
